Possible to add existing tools to python add-in toolbar?

Is it possible to add an existing ArcGIS Desktop tool (e.g. Zoom In Tool) to a python add-in toolbar?

I can add it via the UI, such that it gets saved in the map document or template, but I can't see a way to add it such that when the user first installs the add-in, the tools will already be on the toolbar.

I haven't made an add-in yet, but it seems like you're trying to make your easy button too easy! Just train your users how to add the required tools to the toolbar. At some point you reach diminishing returns trying to code for so many exceptions. Just an observation, I could be way off.
