ArcGIS 10.3 Pro release date?

Can anyone confirm when ArcGIS 10.3 and its new addon Pro, are going to be officially released? On the video from the congress, ESRI said it would be during Q3 of this year. I am keen to get my hands on it as Pro appears to have some nice additional functionality, however the most important to me is the multiple layouts.

I have not had any confirmation of when the official release is going to be as my pre-release is still running. Unfortunately I have not had too much more time to play with it.

Perhaps someone from ESRI could let us know what the status is of the official release?

They missed November. Will 10.3 be releave in December or will it be 2015?

I didn't have a chance to dive into real deep. Once I upgraded to the Pre-Release 1.0 version, it closes immediately after signing in. I figured I would wait until the official release before I started diving into it.

Did you manage to locate grid graticules for the layouts, or is it a different prospect altogether than what I am used to?

Also, do you know what the dynamic page options available are?

Lastly, do you know if I can use dynamic pages from mapsheets etc?

Glad to hear you got it up and running! It is different and takes some getting use to. Of course I was trying to learn it by playing around so it took me a bit longer to learn rather than using the help guides and tutorials.

Hi all

FYI: Eventually got my authorization for ArcPro. It seems there was an issue with my ArcGIS online account which has now been resolved. I am testing it at the moment and finding it a little different but not unworkably so and it has not bombed on me as yet, which is great. I installed the help files, however either I am looking at the wrong help or it is very scarce on tutorial and general help, but this is not much of an issue for me.

One thing I can't seem to determine is whether you can create graticule grids, as per ArcGIS layouts. I will be investigating more to try work this out, however I have only had it for an hour and it seems relatively simple. For the die-hards, it may be quite something to overcome the differences between ArcGIS and ArcPro, but it is quite intuitive and if it has most of the simple functions like grids etc, I will definitely then port my data into ArcPro to make full use of the multiple view and multiple layouts (hallelujah) functionality.

That doesn't look like ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Portal. That looks more like the customer care portal. You need to have an ArcGIS Online account or have ArcGIS Portal installed to access ArcGIS Pro. Here is some documentation on Pro. Overview—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS for Professionals

This screenshot shows all the available things I have. Under Products it only shows my Authorizations but nothing else. I am a single user license holder, so perhaps this is the cause?

You need to go to ArcGIS Online and assign authorization. Once you log in to your ArcGIS Online account, click My Organization, then click Manage Licenses and assign Pro there.

Just an update on my progress. I have installed the Pre release of 10.3 as well as ArcPro v1. 10.3 so far is working fine, however the Pro still says I need to get authorization. I have requested this from my distributor again. I don't understand how ESRI can go to the effort of setting up the download for me and not providing the authorization at the same time. Surely this should be standard procedure? Anyway, now I wait.

I am not sure, however for me, better to release it officially only once it is properly passed all its tests. We don't want a Microsoft on our hands where things get released and then don't work. However, even though my Pre-release has been provided to me for download, I haven't received my Authorization yet...this is something I would have expected to get done at the same time as them making it available to me for download. Now I am waiting as I have installed Pro. Once I have the Authorization, I will let you know whether it bombs out much or not.

What is the story with the prerelease? That is not normal protocol with Esri. Are they having issues with getting people to participate in beta? I keep getting emails from Esri trying to get me to try it but I'm just not comfortable with working with a potentially unstable prerelease.

Developer, Public, Home Use, and trial accounts are not supported.
