This is a companion idea to the live measurement request I just posted. Right now, the measurement tool only works one way, you draw first and it tells you the result. It would help to also go the other way, type in a distance, perimeter, or radius, and have the tool draw that shape automatically from a point you click.
Esri already does something like this in the older Distance and Direction widget, where you can type a radius or diameter and a center point and it generates the circle for you. Bringing that same idea into the current measurement tool, for lines and areas too, not just circles, would save a lot of trial and error for anyone who already knows the exact distance they need, like laying out a fixed buffer zone or a set setback distance.
