A GIS manager sent me a message last week.
Her team is technically excellent. Running Python at 7 am. Automating workflows that used to take three days. Genuinely good at what they do.
"But I don't know how to lead them through this," she wrote.
"Through what?" I asked.
"The AI shift. Everyone says prepare your team. I just don't know what ready looks like anymore."
I sat with that for a while.
Because she was asking the right question. She just had the wrong frame.
This is not a training problem.
Your team does not need another certification. They do not need a course on prompt engineering or a lunch-and-learn about agentic workflows.
