With HarmonyOS Next now the second-largest mobile OS in China (15%+ market share) and Huawei cutting off Android compatibility entirely, the old workaround—wrapping WebView around ArcGIS JS API—is a dead end for professional field apps.
WebView means:
No high-performance gesture handling
No native GPS/RTK hardware access
Battery drain and lag on large vector layers
Chinese enterprise clients (government, utilities, infrastructure) are mandating native Harmony apps. If ArcGIS SDK doesn't support it natively, they will switch to SuperMap or Huawei's own Pangu Map.
Please prioritize a native ArcGIS Runtime for HarmonyOS Next. Even a minimal "MapView + Geometry Engine" MVP would save our projects.
