When are widgets released/available in ArcGIS Online version updates available for development?

When are widgets released/available in ArcGIS Online version updates available for development? I noticed a few key features that were added to widgets in the latest ArcGIS Online release (Oct), however, for development purposes locally, I have no way to get the updated widget.

The Web AppBuilder Developer Edition with the updates usually comes out a few weeks after the AGOL release.
