Hi everyone!
My name is Ron Burns, and I’m a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Geospatial Sciences from Front Range Community College. I currently serve as the Board Secretary and Co-Chair of the Communications Committee for GIS Colorado, as well as the Outreach Committee Chair for Rocky Mountain GPN.
I'm also interning with the City of Aurora Water Department on the GIS Data Stewards Team, where I support asset management and data integrity for the water utility system. In addition to my professional work, I’ve volunteered over 400 hours with the American Red Cross as a Geospatial Mapper and Dispatch Duty Officer, contributing to disaster response and planning efforts.
I’m passionate about environmental applications of GIS, especially water resource management and spatial storytelling. I’m always looking to connect with others in the geospatial field, learn from your experiences, and support collaborative growth in this vibrant community.
