Can't download Field Maps area with new layers

I've been having issues with downloading Field Maps Designer areas on a tablet. The areas previously worked to edit offline, but when I add a layer that I recently made the area fails to download. But the map areas succeed in downloading again when I take the new layer off (even though there are old layers on the map). I can see and use all layers, including the new one, on the online Field Maps map.

 

I have tried making a new layer different ways, including "defining my own layer" and "selecting an existing feature layer". Each of my attempts has led to a download failure on Field Maps when the layer is added to the map. The error message for the new layer under logs after the area fails to download is: Error: Job error 7 Not found. Missing preplanned geodatabase package.

 

Any ideas/input would be appreciated. Thank you.

If you are adding a new layer to your map you will need to 'update' your offline map areas:

Otherwise if you have an existing offline map area, and add a layer to the map, the package for that layer won't be in the offline map area. 

If you are having issues creating the offline map area after adding the layer I would:

• Check the layer for error messages or incompatibility (it'll be in the Online / Field Maps section before you create offline map areas)
• Check field maps logs if creating the area in the field app
• Check the network traffic for the server job results page (as described here)
