Can i utilize Workflow manager in creating, opening and also in other processes of branch versioned data

Question

I have a default version and i have to manage that version with my fellows and i wanted to utilise the workflow manager, is it possible i can create the new branch versions using WFM and also open and other possible actions that i can utilize the WFM in the Utility network?
