Mosaic with some images coming in black/white - Not as grid or background

Hi, I have created a mosiac and have had to add in additional rasters  - some will add in correctly as expected but some are coming in like the image attached. They are black to white. Any suggestions - I have rebuilt the mosaic one but it keeps occuring as i add data. Also the tiff draws fine on its own. 

Any help appreciated.

the same bit depth? pyramids? anything you can provide about the mosaic and the input rasters would help
