Traverse Tool to split non-parcel fabric polygons

In Arcmap you were able to split a polygon using the traverse tool even though it was NOT in a parcel fabric. This functionality seems to have not been transferred to ArcGIS Pro. In Pro to perform this sort of split you I have had to utilize the direction/distance function which adds an extra step of either right clicking or ctrl+G hotkey. Please add this functionality into ArcGIS Pro.

I can think of a few ways to do this in ArcGIS Pro:

Use Traverse to create a temporary line that will be used to split a polygon.
Open Split > By Feature tab > select that line as the Input Feature > for Target Feature, select the polygon to split, then click Split

Alternatively, in step 2 stay on the Interactive tab in Split and start a sketch (click once anywhere in the map), then use the Replace Sketch context menu command to update the sketch with the line's geometry and finish the edit to split the polygon.

Can you describe the workflow you followed in ArcMap, was it similar?

In arcmap in an edit session, I would first select the parcel, click on the cut polygon tool, then click my start point, in this case a section corner. Next I would click the traverse tool and input my cogo directions. Then hit F2 or finish sketch and the polygon was cut/split. This was was nice because I did not have to have an additional line layer or polygon layer to do the traverse in. I could just perform the split in my master parcel layer utilizing the traverse tool. I know I know this could be done in the parcel fabric but I do not want to utilize the parcel fabric because of the automated shifting that occurs. Currently ArcPro does not allow you to split utilizing the traverse tool.

There are a few ways to split a parcel using COGO measurements that are more efficient and maintain parcel lineage (historic parcels) in the parcel fabric.

The parcel fabric does not perform any "automated shifting" - did you one a case for that? Please describe when and how you see this "automated shifting"?

While it might be possible to manage cartographic representation of parcels outside of the parcel fabric we regard that type of solution as a custom solution.
