Why is the add data widet so clunky?

I don't understand why the add data widget within experience builder requires so many clicks.

I'm trying to replicate a webapp I have where I have fed through a curated data group to an add data widget, the user simply has to click "add" and a dataset is added directly to the map. 1 click.

Im trying to replicate the same thing in Experience Builder. First the user needs to click "Add data", then click the dataset they want, and then done. (three clicks so far). Then the user needs to click the 4 dots (Action button) and then "Add to map". 5 clicks.

And this is assuming that the user can figure out to click the 4 dots action button, so far it seems that most cant.

Am i missing something??

The data will automatically add itself after hitting Done if you configure an Data Added>Map>Add Data Action.

With the Add Data Widget in a Widget Controller, on future visits to the site the data will add itself automatically as soon as the widget is opened, until the layer is removed from the Add Data Widget or the user clears their cookies. I don't know what happens if its not in a Widget Controller.
