I couldn’t figure out why connecting the “Copy” tool with input data doesn’t allow the “input feature” option and only provides the “precondition” option in model builder.

Copy (Data Management)—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation doesn't allow for layers as input, you would have to locate the full path to the data
