Take Esri Basemaps Offline

Hi everyone,

I'm sorry if this question has already been answered but I didn't find anything on this topic.

Last week, I got a suggestion from one of my colleagues to change the basemap for our offline map. Now it has the Street style look and we're interested in moving to the topographic with contour lines. The documentation from Esri on this topic (https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/portal/latest/use/take-maps-offline.htm) says that the only available style for ArcGIS basemaps for offline use is the Street style. 

Does anyone know if there are any plans to change this and allow multiple styles for basemaps?

P.S. we are using Enterprise as the main platform.

Hi,

Late reply... Was in a similar position and this is the only post I could find on the topic.

We were able to resolve this issue by:

1. Adding the service URL as an item with stored credentials (as per other offline basemaps, but it defaults to streets).
   1. https://basemaps.arcgis.com/arcgis/rest/services/World_Basemap_Export_v2/VectorTileServer
2. Opening the vector style json for the 'Light Gray Canvas (for Export)'
   1. https://www.arcgis.com/sharing/rest/content/items/a2824f0bd9724eb9882eef0d059581d1/resources/styles/root.json?f=pjson
3. Copying out only the layers section of the json. Exclude the "layers" text but include the brackets and everything within them.
   
    
    

   

4. Updating the style json of the added item from step 1. Got to item details page, edit json, copy-paste in, verify it's all OK and looks good in the map
5. Resume the steps to create a custom basemap
