Toggle from Split Tool to Select Tool?

I feel like I must be missing something simple. Is there a keyboard shortcut in Pro to toggle to a selection tool/cursor while using the Split tool on the Edit ribbon? For example, if I select the Split tool, first I get an arrow cursor to select a line to split, then it changes to a crosshair cursor to split the line. After the split, it remains a crosshair cursor to allow the creation of more splits on the same line.

However, in my workflow, I need to select a line, split, then select a new line, split the new line, select a new line, etc. Is there a way to use the keyboard to toggle back to the arrow cursor without clicking on the tool again each time? Thanks!

Thanks! Will try out this Editing setting. But it would be great if there was a way to do this with keyboard shortcuts and no mouse travel. That would allow the mouse position to stay focused on the editing work in the map window.

Thanks! Yes, I see what you mean. That gets the job done by adding to the selection and still allowing the split. But if I need to do a bunch of splits, it may accumulate a lot of segments in the selection and could be confusing.

@BMCGIS There is some way to do this although not exactly what you are asking because it requires extra actions including reactivating the tool from the pane. We are exploring other ways to reduce this kind of mouse travel by having the tools you need closer to your cursor or within the map.

Anyway, in the Options page, under Editing then General section, you can choose Select tool to always activate when an editing tool is deactivate.

After your first Split action, press Esc key to deactivate the tool and enter into select mode. You can select your next feature then reactivate the tool by clicking the Split button on the Modify Features pane. We hope to improve this last action in future as mentioned before.
