Portal for ArcGIS 11.3: Instant apps minimalist broken

Hello,

After upgrading from 11.1 to 11.3, I noticed that my "Instant apps minimalist" are no longer fonctionnal.

I know it's deprecated:

But still, supposed to work:

And I did not find any mention of it on "Retirements notices":

I believe it's because it's using Maps SDK for Javascript 4.29 and watchUtils is no longer there:

@NicolasGIS yep I can also confirm there's no minimalist app in our 11.3 enviornment. I would hazard a guess that the app wont work in 11.3 now, and that the deprecation notice is incorrect.
Have you opened the app with dev tools open and viewed the console logs?

Yes, did you not see the console screenshot ? It's broken because watchUtils is gone.

Hello Nicolas,

WatchUtils was deprecated at version 4.24. Deprecated classes are removed after three release cycles. The last version to have watchUtils was version 4.27 and they were removed at 4.28.

ArcGIS Enterprise 11.2 was using 4.27. ArcGIS Enterprise11.3 is the first version to not have them.

WatchUtils was replaced by reactiveUtils. If the you have some custom functionality working with the watchUtils, you should rewrite that code to use reactiveUtils.

We have just discovered the same issue with our upgrade. Esri’s documentation currently states only that the Minimalist Instant App is deprecated in version 11.5.

We have opened a support ticket with Esri, as this issue appears to have existed since version 11.3. The documentation should be updated to clearly indicate that the Minimalist app is retired, if that is more accurate.

This clarification would have allowed us to flag our apps and deploy new configurations before upgrading to 11.5.

It appears the esri documentation is outdated. And should reflect "Retired" from 11.3 and higher and AGO.

I spoke to Esri support and this is what they suggest.
"Please remove the term "deprecated" from the documentation across these versions, including ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3 to 11.5, as the word implies that existing applications will continue to function and remain accessible to users. In this instance, the removal of the watchUtils module ensures that apps built with this template will fail to execute entirely. Since the transition from 4.27 to 4.28 involved a breaking change rather than a standard sunsetting of features, the status should be updated to "Retired" or "Unsupported" to accurately reflect the technical reality and prevent user confusion regarding app stability."
