10.8.1 and 10.9.1 Portal to Portal Collaboration

Hi,

If I set up a collaboration between this 2 portals (10.8.1 and 10.9.1), either could be the host? or should be the the portal with higher version?

Based on the documentation I believe either as the host should suffice, however there might be specific items or apps that are not backwards compatible, in which case the 10.8.1 Portal should host.
