I'm trying to create a new hosted feature layer with three layers in ArcGIS Online starting by clicking the New Item button on the Content page. Ideally, I would like to do this by using the schema of an existing feature layer.
The existing feature layer I select has many layers. I deselect them all and then select the three I want to use.
I enter the details for the new item and hit next. Unfortunately, I get this vague error every time: "There was an error while adding this item."
I have tried including and excluding GPS metadata fields and Z values and that makes no difference. I am using an organizational account and I'm an administrator. Any idea what could be going wrong?
If I try to create the feature layer from scratch (using the "Define your own layer" option in the first screenshot above) with the rest of the settings the same, it works. Why am I unable to use the schema of an existing feature layer? I know I can likely open the existing feature layer in Pro, export it to a GDB, and then republish it as a new layer, but I'd still like to know why this isn't working and repair whatever is wrong.
