ArcGIS Data Store - Specific Content Directory

Hello,

I'm in the middle of installing ArcGIS Data Store 10.9.1.

I've come to the part of the wizard for supplying the "Specific Content Directory".

The default is C:\arcgisdatastore.

We have approximately 500GB of space on C:\ and about 1.29TB on another local disk drive.

Should I stay with the default or path it to a local disk drive with more space?  Are there any considerations to take into account regarding this decision?

With DataStore you have to consider how much hosted content with be created within Enterprise. If there is potential for a larger number of layers (i.e. 300+), I would go to the larger drive now to avoid having to move it later. If this Enterprise system won't be as reliant on hosted layers, then it's really up to you. For my installs (for testing or for customers), I usually recommend a secondary drive to avoid switching drives later, as well as avoiding any conflicts with the operating system. Other than drive space, where you specify the content folder doesn't matter to the software, it will perform as intended either way.
