Bad login user in with oracle database

Hello,

I have recently installed Oracle 19c database on a windows server. I am able to make connection to the database from Sql developer as well as from Net Configuration manager in oracle client software from client machine.

However, when I am attempting to connect to the database from Arcmap or ArcGIS pro, it shows bad login user despite that I am using same credentials from sql developer and it works fine.

I was first trying to create enterprise geodatabase using geoprocessing tool. Same error "Bad login" was shown while executing the tool. Then I realized that I am not even able to connect to that database from ArcMap/ArcGIS pro.

Any one have idea what is the issue here? thanks in advance.

This issue is resolved by changing the Oracle user password. The password was containing special characters which ArcGIS client applications was not accepting while login.
