My instructor trial for GIS1 Tutorial for ArcPRO 2.8 has exprired. We use this book in our introductory course every semester. I tried to renew my instructor ecopy and was informed
by VitalSource:
"Evidently at some point after you initially sampled it, the publisher made the title unavailable for Sampling through our Educator's Portal."
I am aware that we are using PRO 3.0 and that a PRO 3.0 book will be issued on or about January 2023.
Another instructor from Dallas College-Brookhaven may also have the same problem.
Any help on this matter would be appreciated.

Yes, we updated the e-book to add courseware for students, so there is another ISBN that the instructor copy is available under. You can search for 9781589487055 in VitalSource, but the direct link is also here: https://www.vitalsource.com/educators/products/gis-tutorial-for-arcgis-pro-2-8-wilpen-l-gorr-kristen-s-v9781589487055. If you are accessing the same ISBN as you were previously then any highlights and notes made should be retained. However in this case it appears that Esri have granted you access to a different ISBN for the eBook, essentially a different copy of the book. This means that your previous highlights and notes are associated with your previous ISBN (which is now expired and not available for sampling) and will not transfer to the new ISBN on your account.
In light of this i would make a suggestion that some procedure be put in place, and because I use old texts to help former students, for an instructor to purchase the eBook, with notes intact.
Just the other day, an acquaintance asked a question on ArcMap 9.3. I have the book and supplied the answer. Books have invaluable procedures, especially for GIS Tutorial 1.
Thanks for the suggestion; we do have a process in place, but it was missed on this book. We try to have both versions, the student one with courseware and the instructor one, available by the e-pub date to avoid misplacement of any notes or highlights. Sorry for the inconvenience caused by the late addition. Please note, too, that we are unable to make older books without an e-book available within VitalSource, since it is specifically for e-book distribution. We also don't have the ability to add notes to e-books to include in all sampling copies; however, you have the option to add other faculty members to your Friends group, and you can all share notes that way.
