What is an appropriate amount of buffer space needed for disk space on Portal?

Maybe this question has two parts; I'd love to have an Esri-approved™ answer concerning the ideal amount of disk space that we should keep open at a given time on a dedicated Portal-only machine.

1. At what threshold is the, "...is running out of disk space... ...Increase disk space on this machine to prevent Portal for ArcGIS from going into a bad state." reached?
2. What is a healthy margin of available disk space to keep on a Portal? Best practices, if you will.
