How to Sign In and Create An Account

Why It Matters: Your sign-in method determines your account type, which affects your permissions. Choosing the right path from the start ensures you have access to everything you need so you can engage with other members in Esri Community.

Quick Tip: Not sure which sign-in method to use? If you work for an organization that uses ArcGIS Online, use your org's sign-in option.

Register - For Members

Navigate to Esri Community and click Sign In/Register in the top-right corner of the navigation bar.
On the sign-in screen, click Create an account at the bottom of the page to go to the registration page.

3. Choose how you'd like to register:

Create an Esri account: Enter your name and email address and accept the terms and conditions. Check your email for a verification message and follow the link to verify your email address. Once verified, you'll be prompted to create a password.
GitHub: Click Sign in with GitHub and authenticate through your GitHub account.
Facebook: Click Sign in with Facebook and authenticate through your Facebook account.
Google: Click Sign in with Google and authenticate through your Google account.
Apple: Click Sign in with Apple and authenticate through your Apple account.

4. Once your account is set up, sign in to your new account following the sign-in steps above.

On the sign-in screen, choose your method:
- ArcGIS login: Enter your ArcGIS username and password.
- Your ArcGIS organization's URL: Enter your organization's URL to sign in through your org's configured identity provider.
- GitHub: Click Sign in with GitHub and authenticate through your GitHub account.
- Facebook: Click Sign in with Facebook and authenticate through your Facebook account.
- Google: Click Sign in with Google and authenticate through your Google account.
- Apple: Click Sign in with Apple and authenticate through your Apple account.
Complete any multi-factor authentication steps required by your organization or account type.
Check Keep me signed in to stay signed in for one day, unless you sign out.
Once signed in, if needed, update your profile name and avatar so other members can find and recognize you.

Sign in or register with Microsoft Entra to authenticate your credentials. Logging in through Entra gives you the correct staff credentials and permissions in Esri Community.
Complete any multi-factor authentication steps required by Microsoft.
Click the Esri Community chicklet by locating it on the tiles or by searching for it in the search bar.

4. This signs you in and brings you to the Esri Community homepage. You'll see your avatar in the top-right corner.

5. If you just registered and logged in for the first time, update your profile name and avatar so other members can find and recognize you.
