Store symbology in the layer (.lyr) file.

Working with ArcGIS Desktop, ArcView, I create MXD files for use by other sites who use varying versions of ArcView from 9.1 to 9.3.1.  Symbology that is based on fonts (application installed and custom) are not rendered properly if the font that the symbols are based on are not installed on the workstation that the mxd file is opened on.  There needs to be a way to embed the symbology into the .lyr file much as the fonts are embedded into the pdf exports to allow symbols to be properly rendered on any workstation.
