Web App Builder - Chart Widget Needs Show Time for X-Axis

Currently the Chart Widget for the Web App Builder (BETA) does not have an option for data over time on the x axis. I work for a canal and ditch company and would love to show the flow of water at a monitoring site over time. Thanks

I've run into this problem while using the ESRI's story maps. It's a bit frustrating to see that this issue was raised three years ago and still hasn't been addressed. Is there any timeline on when this will be fixed? Or at least - is there an option to allow these variables to pass through to the map for developers to add to the map themselves?
