multipoint in Topo to Raster

The Topo to Raster tool doesn't recognize multipoint features. Which means that multipoint data (e.g., from LiDAR) must be converted to point files before you can use them in Topo to Raster. I would like to see the Topo to Raster tool recognize the z-values of multipoint features.
