Ability to embed a web map in an ArcGIS Operations Dashboard that has a time slider embedded in it.
Joachim Bean
Please add this capability. This will be very useful for situational awareness.
It would be very useful
I also need this. I just tried to implement it using a "Category Selector" that can select among the available times on the map. But it is not working yet. I hope there was already a time slider available. Until then, I will keep working on my workaround with 'Category Selector.' Please let me know if you also have come up with this idea. I will probably post a question if I cannot figure that out.
It could be very usefull indeed
please add!!! it seems very intuitive to be able to control time with a slider
Yes please add time slider functionality to dashboards : )
Still needed. Would love even an "under consideration" flag. @AlbertSchelin saw your article on Dashboards in Enterprise, do you have any visibility on this?
I'm amazed this hasn't been implemented yet. There seems to be strong demand from the user community for it but complete radio silence from ESRI. Please implement this functionality as it would be a massive help.
Maybe @JackDangermond is going to announce it at the UC.
Would love to see this in Dashboards going forward. I think I can come up with a workaround for now, but would make my current tasks at the moment more straightforward.
Not yet a thing 5 years later? Please add this idea.
Adding my vote - please make it so.
ESRI any update on this?
Please, this seems like such a clear capability to add.
Yes, please. This would be great!
Couldn't agree more, come on ESRI give a push to this!
This is a much needed addition to the dashboard.
Is there any status update for this idea? Can we expect it to be processed in the near future (read: this year)?
Please. This would go a long way in teasing out local and regional variability and in demonstrating trends in modeling outcomes or observed data.
Definitely need this for COVID-19 tracking purposes right now.
I need my dashboard to have a time slider.
Need a time slider for a single point in time!
Nick Morgan are you using just a web map to display your weather in a dashboard? If you're solely using a web map then you can set a refresh interval on the layers in the map and they'll dynamically update. Does this solve you're isue or are you doing something else?
We're currently using this functionality on one of our dashboards so I just thought i'd mention it.
Essential for weather otherwise the dashboard is a bit dull
Is there any chance that this would be included in the September updates to ArcGIS Online?
This would be great! I have polygons representing work areas that are building up on top of each other and it is of no use to the operations teams because it is just a mess of data. Time slider with dynamic data would be great!
Yes, please, this would be very valuable to USDA APHIS as we review disease and pest control efforts over time.
Its a no-brainer! It works well in App Builder. Let's see it carried over to O.D.
Hi Marty,
No worries, thanks so much for clarifying!
I'm sorry, I was a little sloppy in my word choice. You can filter time with the button bar at the top and have it manipulate the infographics on the side pane in OD. When you use the time slider in the dashboard themed web app builder, it doesn't manipulate the infographics. That was what I was referring too.
Philip Marty wrote:"That is supported in OD but for some reason isn't in the Web App Builder."

Hi Philip,
Can you explain how you we able to get the Time Slider to work with Operations Dashboard?
Thanks!
And have the time slider control the infographic widgets. That is supported in OD but for some reason isn't in the Web App Builder. I'd love to be able to work with the new dynamic time query layers you can publish out of Pro.
I also agree this is a much needed functionality in Operations Dashboard for time aware data visualization!
I agree this is a much-needed feature on the Dashboard. Would also add that it would be nice for the time frame to dynamically change. An example would be that I may want to set up the visual to always show the last hours activity on a loop so each hour it updates the data and shows updated paths/event's
On Hurricane Michael deployment. Wanted the time slider to show the progression of debris pickups, which has drastically increased in the recent days. Had to end up adding the webmap and hiding it to pull data for the dashboard. Then added a web app to the main view with the time slider enabled. Muddy work around, but it worked. We definitely need this function in dashboards.
