ABSTRACT Science, Society and Snow Leopards: The high range Himalayan ecosystem in Pakistan is of crucial importance for the biodiversity and ecosystems of global significance including the globally endangered snow leopard range that extends across twelve range countries. The PSLEP project is a Landscape Based Conservation Project. The project will be implemented in three Model Landscapes (Karakoram-Pamir, Hindu Kush and Himalaya). The overall aim of the project is to promote a landscape approach for the survival of snow leopard and its prey species by reducing threats and applying sustainable land and forest management in critical habitats in Northern Pakistan.
