ABSTRACT: " As GIS practitioners, we often think the battle is over when we’ve collected or analyzed our data. But an effective map has a point of view and makes a case. To do either, you need to know where you’re coming from, and who you are talking to. Help your audience, or the communities represented in your maps, better understand your work with user-centered design. The key tools here are less about technical analysis and more about how you engage with map users, early and often, to show the your work in progress and see if they are getting
