“The entire area of Kutina village is highly impacted by the coal and uranium mining. A large area is planted with Pinus sylvestris, which is pollution resistant, but it is not native for this area and is not common for this elevation. This GIS allowed us to create a viable reforestation plan and will enable us to determine the success of our restoration plan over time. Similar projects, which are common in the USA, give positive results and the designed plant communities perform very well. Cascadia Quest and the King County World Conservation Corps in Seattle carry out many projects
