In this exercise, we implement a search function for records in a dataset, using as an example

Dutch municipalities in a FeatureLayer<\/A>.<\/P>

<\/P>

For this, we add a

Search<\/A> widget to the basemap we created earlier<\/A>.<\/P>

<\/P>

The layer used here

Municipalities (Administrative Boundaries 2019)<\/A> comes from the Living Atlas of the World<\/A> and is provided by Esri Nederland<\/A>.<\/P>

Points of attention:<\/P>

In the configuration of the Search widget, you can specify one or more columns to search on. In our example, we use two columns: searchFields: ["Gemeentenaam", "GM_Code"]<\/SPAN><\/LI>And you can indicate whether the search result must match exactly or not. By setting exactMatch: false<\/SPAN>, you can be very flexible, also on part of a word.<\/LI><\/UL><\/P>Below is the complete code of the application.
