Review GeoDev Meetup Berlin #1 2016

On 17.2., our first GeoDev Meetup of this year took place at the Esri office in Berlin<\/A>. I have to say, I really enjoyed it again. We had three very exciting presentations and I was able to welcome some new people to our group.<\/P>

About the presentations: It started with Michael Aust from

arc-greenlab<\/A>, who reported on GIS-supported process management in ordnance disposal. An exciting and unfortunately still current topic, which also clearly illustrates the importance of geodata.<\/P>

 <\/P>

Then Jürgen Rusch from Esri Deutschland and Daniel Hofmann from the

Berliner Feuerwehr<\/A> presented a tool that can automatically make OSM data available offline. The questions and discussions showed how great the interest is here. We plan to make the tool available to you on the Esri GitHub Repository <\/A>. Stay tuned!<\/P>

Finally, Dr. Jay Krishna Thakur from the

Umwelt- und Informationstechnologie Zentrum Berlin<\/A> presented a project from his home country Nepal. This research project aims to determine the relationship between land use and water balance and thus ensure sustainable agriculture. Also a flagship discipline for geoinformation.<\/P>

All in all, it was a well-rounded event and I am already looking forward to the next GeoDev Meetup in Berlin. As usual, you can find photos in our
