ArcGIS Open Data has just been updated and contains many exciting features for developers:<\/P>
<\/P>
Connected Data<\/STRONG><\/P>Previously, datasets were considered rather isolated. Connected Data now allows referencing other datasets from within the dataset itself to create better context. For example, one can refer from an overview of a city's transportation infrastructure to specific datasets on individual modes of transport, as the following example shows. This feature will be gradually expanded and it will also be possible in the future to link to apps, for example.<\/P><\/P>
<\/P><\/P>API Explorer<\/STRONG><\/P>Datasets in ArcGIS Open Data can be accessed via a REST interface. It is now possible to execute queries directly in the portal via an API Explorer and view the results in JSON format. This allows developers to quickly familiarize themselves with a dataset without having to do extensive programming.<\/P>
<\/P><\/P>Social Logins<\/STRONG><\/P>This feature was already introduced with ArcGIS Online and is now also available in ArcGIS Open Data. Users can log in with their existing Facebook or Google+ account. They then have access to a Public Account from ArcGIS Online, with which they can, for example, create bookmarks.<\/P>
