GeoNet - The new home of GeoDev Germany

You have probably already noticed that we want to inform you more intensively through our GeoNet group GeoDev Germany<\/A><\/STRONG>. Our goal is to build THE GeoDev Community for the German-speaking region together with you. But for many, GeoNet is still new. Therefore, we would like to give you an overview below and show you how you can best use it for yourself.<\/P>

Who is GeoDev Germany for?<\/H1>Do you want to realize your own idea<\/STRONG> and do cartography and location-based services play a role? Then you are in the right place! We want to help you implement this idea with ArcGIS <\/A>and other tools. You do not necessarily have to be an established developer <\/A>, although this is certainly a focus of our group. We also want to show users and power users how they can work successfully with suitable tools such as Esri Story Maps<\/A> or the Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS<\/A>.<\/P>

Our focus is on ArcGIS and the German-speaking region. But of course, we also keep an eye on the rest of the world for you <\/P>

What will you learn from us?<\/H1>First of all, we want to inform you about products, technologies, and trends<\/STRONG>. For this purpose, we blog regularly and sometimes dedicate a small blog series to important innovations.<\/P><\/P>In addition, we keep you up to date on important dates and events<\/STRONG>. On the homepage, you will find an overview of upcoming events. In the "Calendar" tab, you will find our event calendar<\/A>.<\/P>

Ask us your questions!<\/H1>It is important to us to actively support you in your work. Do you have questions? Then ask us! You will find a question form on the entry page. While typing, you will already receive suggestions; maybe someone has already had the same question. Otherwise, we will get back to you promptly.<\/P><\/P><\/P><\/P>Get involved!<\/H1>Like every portal, GeoNet lives from active users. Therefore, we would be very happy if you participate actively. You can comment on and share all posts. You can not only ask questions but also answer them. You can participate in surveys and discussions. And you can report on your own work in a blog.<\/P><\/P>For all this, you must be a member<\/STRONG> of the group. Register for free on GeoNet, navigate to our group, and simply click "Actions," then "Join Group" in the header. Have you already set up an account on the Esri Developer Portal<\/A>? Then of course, you can also log in to GeoNet with it.<\/P>

Network!<\/H1>You want to network with others analogously to Facebook & Co? Then you should create a meaningful profile<\/STRONG>. Click on your profile picture in the title bar and maintain your contact information, experiences, interests, etc. Here is an example profile page:<\/P><\/P><\/P><\/P>As soon as you become a member of the group, your profile appears under People. This makes it possible to specifically network with people from GeoDev Germany to send them personal messages or simply follow them.<\/P><\/P>How do you access GeoNet?<\/H1>You can reach our group in the browser<\/STRONG> at http:\/\/.geonet.esri.com/groups/geodev-germany<\/. A>. The group is set up so that all content is freely accessible. However, then you forego the possibility of actively participating.<\/>\n

P alternatively, you can install the Jive App from Jive Software on your smartphone or tablet. This requires login; without your own profile nothing works here. You can find the app on iTunes or Google Play by simply searching for "Jive Mobile."<\/>\n

P want it very convenient? Then you can also subscribe to our blogs via RSS feed and integrate it into Outlook, for example.
