The second GeoMob Munich<\/A> with the theme "Maps, Machine learning and AI" took place on the evening of 18.07.2019. Many thanks again to Muthukumar Kumar, Managing Editor of the blog platform Geoawesomeness.com<\/A>, who initiated and organizes this meetup series under the brand GeoMob<\/A> in Germany. This time it was hosted at the Google Campus<\/A> in Munich. Google also provided snacks and drinks for the well-being of the participants, many thanks for that.<\/P><\/P><\/P><\/P>The evening was well organized; during the break and after the presentations there was plenty of time for networking, which was also done extensively. The approximately 70 participants consisted of students and representatives from start-ups and companies. About 40% were developers.<\/P> <\/P>The program was very interesting; seven 10-minute presentations were held:<\/P><\/P>Wolfgang Deigele, Master student at TU Munich, talked about Deep Learning in raster analysis with ArcGIS Pro<\/A> for detecting storm damage in forests<\/LI>EIXOS Economic Observatory<\/A> presented how they monitor economic activity in cities using machine learning and AI?<\/LI>Ines Kühnert, Project Manager at AZO<\/A>, introduced the Galileo Masters International Innovation Competition<\/A><\/LI>Cassi Welling, COO at Hawa Dawa GmbH<\/A>, presented how data about air quality in cities is monitored and evaluated using Machine Learning and AI.<\/LI>Elizabeth Duffy, Business Development at UP42<\/A>, introduced a developer platform with scalable modules for creating geo-solutions.<\/LI>Aleksander Buczkowski, Senior Manager at Drone Powered Solutions, PwC<\/A>, reported on the inspection of objects with drones (e.g., in the energy sector) and subsequent evaluation of images using machine learning and AI.<\/LI>Bilge Kobas, architect and co-founder of Bits’ n Bricks<\/A>, presented her approach and solutions for urban planning. From data mining through data processing, analysis to visualization.<\/LI><\/OL> <\/P>Afterwards there was an exciting discussion round with all speakers.
