The new generation of the ArcGIS Runtime SDKs is on its way, and a Beta 1 version has now been released for the platforms Java, Android, and iOS.<\/P>
The Quartz release will bring the biggest changes and innovations so far in the Runtime SDKs. It has been built from the ground up with a new architecture and will provide better consistency between the individual Runtime SDKs.<\/P>
Support for 3D data in the map is the special highlight in the new Quartz release.<\/P>

New features in the ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Java include, among others, the separation of Map and MapView, improved Portal integration, and the use of Graphics in Overlays. All new features can be found here:<\/P>

The Beta 1 currently has a reduced feature set. Offline functionalities are not available yet (coming in Beta 2), nor are Routing, Geocoding, and Analysis, as well as tasks like Query, Find, and Identify. These will gradually be added back by the Final Release.<\/P>
