On November 10 and 11, the first MÜNSTERHACK took place in Münster. At this hackathon (MÜNSTERHACK - Hackathon for Münster<\/A> ) the tech scene in Münster came together and jointly developed ideas and prototypes to make their city even more livable. A total of nine idea pitches were presented and then worked on in groups. The participants were accompanied by eleven mentors from local companies (including Esri), who supported the teams with organizational, technical, or commercial questions .<\/P><\/P>At the end of the event on 11.11. (Helau! <<EMOJI_0>>) all participants and spectators gathered for a big evening event in the rooms of Stadtwerke Münster to present the results and crown the winners. In addition to fame and honor (and possible follow-up actions), there were also cash prizes to be won.<\/P><\/P>In the end, the jury decided on the following winners of #MSHACK17:<\/P><\/P>1. Bus Reality<\/P><\/P>The app calculates the current delay from the scheduled and actual travel times of the city buses and additionally offers the possibility to calculate forecasts for future delays taking into account weather, traffic, and events. As a special feature, an Augmented Reality function was developed that shows app users waiting at a bus stop the current passenger information and delays on a virtual display board live on the smartphone's camera image.<\/P><\/P>2. Leih Leeze<\/P><\/P>The Leih Leeze team developed an app with which private individuals can offer their bicycle ("Leeze") on the internet for visitors or tourists. With just a few clicks, the bike is listed and immediately visible to everyone via smartphone app. An integrated billing function ensures smooth payment. As a highlight, an Alexa Skill was developed that allows searching for and reserving the bike via voice input.<\/P><\/P>3. Family Dashboard<\/P><\/P>The Family Dashboard is an information app for citizens at the district level. Citizens can use it to get information about current construction measures, events, and happenings in their neighborhood.
