ArcGIS has supported multidimensional data for a long time. ArcGIS Pro visualizes this data in just a few steps.<\/P>
<\/P>
NetCDF (Network Common Data Form) is a file format for storing multidimensional scientific data (variables) such as temperature, humidity, pressure, wind speed, and wind direction. All variables can be displayed in ArcGIS over one dimension (e.g., time) by creating a layer or table view from the netCDF file.<\/SPAN><\/P><\/P>Here, the wind speeds in the Caribbean region at the beginning of September 2017 are visualized. The red ball is a hurricane named "Irma." It first hits the small and large Antilles and then Florida. "Jose" followed "Irma" immediately but fortunately turned away before reaching the islands.<\/P><\/P>
<\/P><\/P>1. Add Data<\/H3>Add data > Multidimensional Raster Layer > Input NetCDF-File - Select Variables - Choose Output Config<\/EM><\/P> <\/PRE><\/P>Under <\/SPAN>Add data<\/EM> you will find the menu entry to create a <\/SPAN> <\/SPAN>Multidimensional Raster Layer<\/EM>.<\/SPAN><\/P><\/TD>

In the menu that opens, add the netCDF file.<\/P> <\/SPAN><\/P>Select the Variable<\/EM> to be visualized.<\/SPAN><\/P>
(In this example, only wind speed is available as a variable in the dataset)<\/SPAN><\/P><\/P>As Output Configuration<\/EM>, select Classic NetCDF Raster <\/EM>and confirm everything with OK<\/EM>.<\/SPAN><\/P><\/P>More information can be found here<\/>
