AI files with embedded maps causes selected object's fill color to change to white when click between Illustrator tabs

Question

I have an interesting bug that I found while working on maps. When I am working on an AI file where there is an embedded map in it, if I select on an object, and then click on another tab in Illustrator and then go back to the AI file where the embedded map is, the object that I selected previously will change the fill color white. It seems that it takes two steps, as I have to undo twice. This only happens to AI files that have an embedded map, and no other AI files.
