Select an item in Catalog

Question

How can I select an Item in the Catalog pane? There is the SelectedItems property in the Project class but I don't see a method to select some item.

I have looked at the github link you kindly provided.  That will definitely get me started.  Additionally, the sample "CustomCatalogContext" from the community samples has provided a great launching point.  I have found the samples very helpful.
