Default Text Field

Question

Ok this seems like it should be simple, how do you define a default text field?  I tried just using quotes and then not but either way the default text I want to show isn't being displayed.  I have a field for TYPE which right now only has one option until we expand so I want to just default the text to the only option

Thanks, I though I did that and didn't get any data come through.  I recheck.

If your question type is text, you do not need quotes. See screenshot below.

If your question type is a select_one, then make sure the default value is set to the value in your choices list, rather than the label.
