Autopopulate a field for the date and time within a record?

Hi,

I am trying to use a unique identifier for samples I collect when I am out working. I need to write this on the bag in which I collect the sample.  I use more than one survey service for which I collect samples (depending on the job).  Therefore I think using date and time would be the most straight forward way. So I would like to have a field that looks like:

type             label                default

dateTime     Sample ID       today and now

Is this possible? I see a dateTime type on the documentation and it is not highlighted in yellow, but it is not a choice in Survey123Connect.

dateTime questions are available in Survey123 - but not all templates have not been updated yet. Enter dateTime into the type column and then select Yes in the data validation message box to create a date-time question.

Then set the default values for your dateTime question to now().
