I have a virtual directory set up to where my plats are. They are in .tif format but I do have one in .pdf format to use to test this widget. Use the identify tool to identify features on the map: Identify Clear Loading... Features Identified: Lot PLATLINK Not sure why this isn't working. I modified the identifywidget.xml, do I need to modify anything else to get this to work? Might be easier to just explain what to do and I will do it per the instructions and see if I missed anything.

All,

A new version of the identify widget is now available.

* 2.2.3 - Identify by point/line/extent/polygon are all now supported
- Info window will appear at the center of identified geometry now if returngeometryforzoom is set to true in xml file.
if returngeometryforzoom is true, when you mouse over a record the geometry for that particular record is drawn using the symbology defined in the xml
- The symbology used by the draw tools is now user defined in the xml
- Fixed an issues with link icon if prefix or suffix is supplied and a empty field.

I have the same problem as stated above where the identify tool in the flexviewer folder returns Identify operation not supported on this service. What were the steps to fixing the problem?

Actually it was the myIdentify v1.3 that worked.

Okay I am a bonehead. I used your myIdentify_v1.2.02. It worked. All I had to do thru my iterations was remove and re-add the IdentifyWidget to the modules each time I did an iteration to test it.

I am starting to think I should have replaced the IdentifyWidget.xml and mxml in the esa folder as well.

Its probably important to note that I did not try to create a separate Identify tool to use in addition to the standard Identfiy tool that comes with the sample viewer. What I did was just replace the IdentifyWidget.xml and mxml in the flexviewer folder. Which, I thought would basically alter the standard Identify tool in the sample viewer.

What is interesting is if I have it in the config file to point at the IdentifyWidget in the esa folder, the tool will function properly, albeit it doesn't show the hyperlink that I am trying to accomplish. If I change it in the config to point to the IdentifyWidget in the flexviewer folder, the tool functions properly, it just give me that comment that says the tool does not support that service.

Yep. I have an mxd set up with several layers in it. The mxd is running as a service called Streetstuff. Its my test as i am building in flex. Lot is the exact name of the layer in the mxd, and PLATLINK is the field alias with the http urls.

Is "Lot" the exact name of the layer in a map service as it is listed in your REST service directory?

Yeah. I have something wrong somewhere. Implementing this tool should be easy. All I should have to do is replace the IdentifyWidget.xml/mxml files right? I changed the config to point to flexviewer folder instead of the esa folder but that just gives me a "identify operation not supported on this service" in the identify box.

When I built the virtual directory, I didn't set it to run scripts and executables. So I checked that on too and will try it again.

Sorry, I completely typed my slashes the wrong direction. As far as the esa one... Which one are you pointing to in your config.xml? If you are pointing to the esa one in the config.xml change it to point to the one in the flexviewer folder instead.

I have spaces in my file names and I hope that isn't causing a problem. Like I will have Hodgemans 1870.jpg
