how to make my map update with attached excel doc

I want to be able to have my Street Department "boots on the ground" people update their Pazer data by editing a spreadsheet on MS Excel. And I want that updated data to display on my map every time anyone opens it. 

I downloaded ArcGIS Maps for Office and I'm having an issue with the first exercise on my training course.

I have a Case open in ESRI Customer Care am waiting on them to assist me. 

My question: Is there a way to make ArcMAP or ArcGIS Pro connect permanently and dynamically with an excel spreadsheet other that with ArcGIS Maps for Office?

Good Afternoon Dan, 

Thank you for your inquiry. At this time ArcGIS Maps for Office is the only Microsoft integrated product. Meaning ArcMap and ArcPro are standalone software. Esri Technical Support is the best resource for follow up questions regarding workflows or helping you discover a path to your end goal.
