I have a several maps that are almost in the same extent area and they are in mxd. Is there a way for me to get them into footprints from each ArcMap Layout view .
The reason I am asking is because i am working on a few "highlight" of the roads that I am putting them into these ArcMap and they are closer to each other. It will be hard for me to put them in all of them and they may not show up or not. The highlights are not spread out and are sort of cluster to each other and they might be smaller area. So what I want to do is to run and get a results from each ArcMap and then output them into polygon. This way I can put the "highlight" shapefiles to show me which ArcMap that I can put them there. It will save me a lot of time.
I have one map that is overview of the area and then I have several of them that are break down into smaller areas of Interest. These maps are part of the Kiosk maps and are put up the wall that are spread out in the area.
It has no raster in it and just mostly layers that are in polygon, points, annotation and lines.
I think someone mention this somewhere but I am not sure about that for the Non-raster side.
P.S. Much similiar to XTools's Extract Map but I really don't need it. It takes out from the shapefiles into a new folder....
