ArcGIS Server License Level for Publishing Globe Services?

For ArcGIS Server, what license level do I need to publish Globe Services? Standard or Advanced? Do I need the 3D ArcGIS Server extension? 

I believe I only need Standard without the 3D extension.  But, I do need ArcGIS Desktop 3D Analyst to create the .3dd files.  Is this correct?

Your belief is correct.

ArcGIS Server Standard can serve ArcGlobe (3dd) services.  You do need 3D Analysts to create the ArcGlobe Documents (3dd).
