Tracker Not Uploading Data Automatically

I just started using Tracker with ArcGIS Enterprise 10.7.1 a few days ago. I am doing some testing on my Android Samsung S9 Note, Tracker Version 20.1.0 Build 2643 (always connected via wifi or cellular). I have yet to have the app upload data on it's own. I can successfully force an upload using the 'Upload now' process. I have had the app running in the background for 19 hrs. now with no upload. Any idea why this is happening? My colleague has been doing similar testing on his iPhone and his data has been uploading automatically as expected.

I believe I figured out the issue. I always keep my phone in ‘Medium power saving mode’. It appears this mode “blocks apps from using data or your location in the background”. I changed it to ‘Optimized’ mode and my data uploaded immediately.

That's interesting, I haven't seen this issue before. We can look into it but it'd help if you open a support case.

I signed out/in, and collected data outside for about an hour. No data was uploaded. I don't see any reference to "Uploading X tracks", "Upload succeeded for X tracks", "Upload failed...". Battery life has been 85%+ and i have had my phone plugged in for portions of the testing. Log entries are below. Let me know what you think. Also, should I open a support case?

Hmm okay. You should see some log entries like "Uploading X tracks", "Upload succeeded for X tracks", "Upload failed...". Can you try plugging your phone in? If you have battery life > 20% it should upload every 60s instead of every 10 minutes. Does that make any difference?

If not, can you try signing out of the app, closing the app, and signing back in. Does that resolve it?

You can also try sharing the logs using the overflow button in the upper right corner. If you have a lot of logs, the app may crash, but if you sign out, the logs will be cleared out. So I'd suggest signing out and signing back in then try to reproduce the issue for 30 minutes or so and then try sharing your logs with us if you still have the issue.

I am checking in Track Viewer in Portal, and on my device. I don't see any data in Track Viewer since I last uploaded manually (I can see them on my device). Under Profile on my device it says Last upload: 20 hours ago. I do not see any failed upload attempts in the log. Mostly 'Marked LKL as updated', and I do see a recent entry for 'Updated last known location'.

Hi Matt,

How are you checking that tracks have or haven't uploaded?

You can go to the profile and tap 9 times on the About->Build Number row to enable developer options. Then you should see a "Logs" button that you can open to view the logs. Do you see failed upload attempts?
