APDM and ESRI Telecom Model

Dear all,

We currently have our entire Pipeline network defined in an APDM templated geodatabase. This geodatabase is used to support a well defined set of processes (Right of way, Public utility declaration...) We are now requested to support also our Optical fiber network on the same processes. We are given the following options:
1) we could polute our APDM geodatabase with data wich are not pipe. After all a duct and a pipeline could end up both as Station series and a line loop with a discriminant. This would allow us to reuse the same code. We mainly need to support online and off line feature.
2) build a separate geodatabase based on the ESRI Telecom Data model for example and try to build the same processes on this one... Well not that easy has they are really different.

Has anyone gone through this process? What option did you toke?
