arc crashing when clicking toolbox

Question

arcmap 10.5.1 crashes everytime i click on toolbox

i was able to access the toolbox from catalogue, but once i tried to perform an operation, the software crashed again.

i am accessing arc from a virtual box, and it has been updated.

i have also tried modifying  the software..

Is it possible to have a different user on this VM and see if it still crashes?

Check if the Geoprocessing is running on the background or foreground?
