Ideas for Masters thesis in Geo-engineering/Geological engineering

Hello everyone,

I am applying for graduate school in Cananda and i am trying to figure out possible topics for research that have a GIS background. I am hoping to come up with ideas that make full use of GIS without blocking out the Engineering side. Any suggestions guidelines or tips are much appreciated. Thanks in advance

Yes... search the research interests of the faculty where you are applying.  It is kind of an unwritten bit of knowledge that no faculty member is going to take you on unless you fit into their narrowly defined research focus since cash is thin and they are looking for students that are more amenable to cloning in their image .  Gone are the days where you had a bright idea and a faculty member would say ... cool!... lets see if we can get you funding.
